A Good Reminder

Sometimes the best shots come in between the shots and poses you have planned for. Here are a couple of examples:

This was out on an editorial shoot in the Irish Hills. We had spent a couple of weeks creating the concept and setting up the details and the shoot turned out great. However, one of our favorite images from that day came during a “down” moment.

The mother/daughter moment here warms my heart.

When you are shooting senior portraits in Detroit in early-December, it certainly can get cold. I believe it was in the 20’s that day. Here, I caught a natural moment of Rachel warming her daughter Karmen up before we got ready for the next pose. The love they have for each other is evident.

So, whether you’re a professional photographer or just someone who wants to capture great, natural moments, keep that camera at the ready. You (and potentially your clients) will be grateful you did!
